Everyone's favorite Secret agent Bumble - 0 - 7 (Paul F. Tompkins) is at it again, but this time he has the help of the division's latest trainee and super genius gadget inventor, Zingo (David Huntsberger). There is no time to waste as the duo must save legendary pop star, Jazz Singer (Margaret Cho), from the evil clutches of The Bruiser Brother (Kyle Kinane and Andy Peters). There motives are unknown, but sure to make your spine tingle.
I'm writing this in a paniced frenzy directly after waking up from my 5 day post Bridgetown Comedy Fest I'm too old to party coma. I had too much fun! Amazing Comedy as always. I want to take this time to discuss a little mentioned part of the festival - The Eagles Lodge! I was asked to do two shows in this venue (because I am not famous) and it turned out to be the kind of comedy circus that I love.

The lounge featured cheap food and beer, pool, and a game they called the triple shot ski toss. It remeinded me of this place that my grampa used to take me to when it was his turn to babysit.

The Eagles lodge is ran by the Eagles. I asked around to members of the group, and they don't know what they do. They just kept telling me community service. Judging from the looks of the members - that means free motrocycle rides. They were a tough bunch.

The members of the club were also in charge of the decoration of the venue for the fest. This consisted of purple and gold streamers throughout the showroom and on the stage - you know - Comedy Colors. Of course, every single comedian mentioned these streamers.

Here is what happened on my second set of the Eagles Lodge:

The MC says my name and I make my way to the stage - normal biz - then, one of the Eagles - who I later named Applesauce Jackson (a name I give to all seemingly gruff personalities) - approached the stage. He gave me a "wait one second" hand gesture. I obliged. I found a nice little standing place at the side of the stage and gave Applesauce the floor.

"Ladies and gentlemen I hate to interupt the fun. But I have to say, if you girls don't stop smoking your marijuana in the girls bathroom, there will not be a Bridgeport fun fest next year."

That was the kind of power that this man weilded! He could shut down the entire festival! I would love it if the fest did not happen next year, and the wesite just read: "Sorry - too many girls were smoking marijuana in the bathroom last year." So - come on ladies! for the sake of there being a fest next year - keep your pot out of the bathroom and smoke it in front of the entrance to the venue like I did. It is more accepted.

I really do hope that this venue remains a part of the fest. It is a treasure and you cannot makeup what happens there.

I walk in to find my friends from Seattle - Derek Sheen, Doug Gale, and Mark Allender sitting at the lobby bar drinking Mimosas while eating an Artichoke Heart appetizer. Collectively these fellas are the Delicious Mediocrity Podcast - A Web talk series that visits with a comedian guest each week - with a bend towards all things Seattle. They brought me up to there hotel room and had there way with me. And, by that, I mean Doug, Derek, and I had a conversation while Mark recorded it. It was a very laid back and friendly experience. Probably because we a re all friends. The Topics ranged from what I am up to these days, a questionable make up company ad campaign, and a comedy club that turned into a strip club by just slightly changing there name. It was great to sit down and reminisce with these guys.

This fresh and upbeat show can be found at http://www.deliciousmediocrity.com/. Past guest have included Seattle great such as Billy Wayne Davis, Alysia Wood, Andy Haynes, and Scott Moran. So - like I said - very Seattle. So, if you are in to that sort of thing - please check it out.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.andypeterscomedy.com/blog/2010/12/13/you-should-like-this-too-the-comedy-car-hole.html"><rss:title>You should Like This Too: The Comedy Car Hole</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.andypeterscomedy.com/blog/2010/12/13/you-should-like-this-too-the-comedy-car-hole.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

This week I will be performing my stand up in a garage. I'm sure you are saying, "Andy, you must be being punished for being crappy." To that I say, "NO! I am being rewarded for being awesome." You see - The Comedy Car Hole is one of the most sought after shows in the LA area. The cult following crowd that gathers one Friday every month outside of a garage on Bundy Street on the West Side - is one of the best in town. The show was started out a few years back by a group of writer friends from Washington State, and has gone on to become a must attend event.

The show features everything you would want: Guest spots by the top comedians in town, a host that gets progressively drunk as the show goes on, and sets by Car Hole comedian and character favorites. Come on out this Friday and see what all the hub bub is about.
